On the outing, even simple chats show us that we can grasp each other's emotions without much talk, having endured similar hardships that others can't understand as deeply. Somehow you can find some comfort here—even for the kids too.

I still remember the first day I met Melody; I didn't know there were many young widows with kids out there. Seeing her manage two boys made me feel like I could get through it too.
